About The Heavy Wait Wellness Collective
The Heavy Wait Wellness Collective LLC is committed to making the kidney health journey less isolating and more empowering, particularly for Black and Brown communities who face unique cultural, weight-related, and socioeconomic barriers in the healthcare system. Founded by someone who spent nearly a decade on dialysis and experienced the transplant process firsthand, we recognize that clinical care alone can’t fill the emotional, informational, and practical gaps patients face.
Our collective offers compassionate guidance, culturally-competent resources, and patient-centered advocacy so people can feel fully informed, supported, and prepared at every phase of chronic kidney disease and transplantation. We strive to bridge the divide between the healthcare system and the real needs of our community—from diagnosis through dialysis, transplant, and recovery.
